i havent been on this site in ages, or at least this profile, until now so i need to update my profile. im tired of my old blah blah blah that is on this account.

I'm a happy, affectionate, low-drama kind of guy. I've managed to get where I wanted to go in life, and now I'm looking for someone to share it with.

I'm fairly independent, but I enjoy the company of others when the time is right. They enjoy me, too, if their puzzled half-grins are any indication.

I hate bananas, humidity, and alarm clocks. I'd include ants, but they gave me a reprieve this year, so for now, it's a truce.

The best relationships I've been in grew slowly as the two of us got to know each other better. I've been on both the giving and receiving ends of those love-at-first-sight moments, but I'm not convinced they lead to long-term happiness. Feel free to prove me wrong.

Now for my life story (because you totally asked): I started college as a music composition major but had trouble figuring out the appeal of academic music, so I switched majors to follow my other passion of making games. I did the "right thing" and focused on my studies so that I could find employment once I graduated. It worked, but as these things go, my new job meant I had to travel two thousand miles, leaving everything and everyone I knew behind. I've had a great time out here, and I've made plenty of friends, but I still feel like a bit of a transplant. This Georgia boy needs more trees, more fields, fewer cars.

Learning as much as I can before I enter the real world. I like to take risk in all aspects of life such as going skydiving and dirt biking to starting my own company. I keep myself as active as possible because sometimes it's easy to get sucked into just studying for school. I play soccer and go to the gym as often as I can. I enjoy deep intellectual conversations now and then, but love ranting about mundane subjects such as if Megan Fox will be a better Tomb Raider than Angelina Jolie. I'm from an area where the beaches are amazing and easily accessible and I miss them greatly, but I try to keep myself occupied with other activities such as movies and hanging out with friends.

The only items that I do not enjoy are liver from any animal, brussell sprouts and canned green beans. HAHA! a lot has been going on in my life in the last couple years a lot of shit and to be quite honest i've got really fed up with it, it took me a lot of stupid mistakes and things i regret to realize the way ive been livin wasn't the way i wanted to continue to live. so once i was able to surrender that old life style is when i was able to start livin my life in a more positive and productive way it's not gonna be easy but i know with the right people in my life and the support of my family is wut i need to keep me movin forward and not fallin short. as many said it's really "just for today" so live each day as i's your last, cause no one is promised "tomorrow" and that's somethin i believe 100%.

Born and raised in southern California. Lived here most of my life except for 3 years in Texas, and some time in Iraq.

I got called up for year in Iraq with the National Guard (so much for 2 weeks a year!) as an infantry team/squad leader. I'm apparently not what people expect an Iraq vet to be like though - most people are surprised to find out I was in the army. A group of Iraqi kids nicknamed me "John Kerry" because I was the only soldier they had met that said I was voting for him.

After that I went back to my real life as a computer programmer for a couple years... only to go back to Iraq again for another year as a civilian contractor doing web development (not one of the Blackwater type contractors - I sat in a cubicle).

Now I'm trying to keep busy enough so I'm not tempted to accept a job offer in Afganistan...

On Sunday, I woke up at 6:30 in the morning and went running. When I finished, the first thing I did was make coffee. I make a bad ass cup of coffee... black, no cream or sugar. Went to Barnes & Nobel to check out some leisure reading. Did some work, ate some excellent home made peruvian food, wrestled a bear and wound down the night with a glass of whiskey on ice. The bear's name is Wheels.

Self summery Huh. How does one answer this without sounding introverted. Ok lets see. I am a 29yr old man that loves life, I am honest, sinceer and respectful. I love the beach and late night walks. I have an athletic build, I go to the gym about 4-5 times a week. I love all types of music and I also love going to shows. Let me formally introduce myself electronically. I have not posted a picture online but until then I will give you a typed description for now. Hmmmm, let's see how can I describe myself? I am 5'9"ish, short dark hair, and light brown eyes. I am athletic built and I try to workout 4-5 times a week. I do not lose sleep if I miss a day or two, but it is a good stress reliever from the hectic daily challenges of life. On the weekends you can find me hiking in the hills near my house or out on my best friends boat. Would love to find that special someone to enjoy a nice hike or boat ride with. I am an easy going guy, but know when to pick my battles. I try to balance my ambition with doses of relaxation. That's very important to me.

I try to go to the gym or jog in the mornings and am also your typical guy who is into sports like basketball. I'm not the type of guy who goes bungee jumping, skydiving, or does the "running of the bulls" type stuff. So, you don't have to worry about me killing myself that way :) I don't like the idea of a skull-piercing goring ending me. Hello everyone. Welcome to the internet, it is a nice place and there are lots of things to mindlessly click on so enjoy your stay. Oh I named the internet Brian. just so you know. Brian and I are good friends.

Anyway, about me. I program internets for a living, meaning I program things like when you send messages on OKCupid, the program that stores and displays those messages. Unlike OKCupid, I'm not insane and I program in something sensible for web use, not C++. I like computers. A lot. Sometimes I cry when I see what people do to them. I spend too much time in front of them, and if I'm not careful I will get arrested for indecent exposure. I do like to go out and be social when bribed, so I'm like a quasi-nerd. Except I'm not I'm really just a huge nerd and I'm trying to kid myself. But don't tell you I said that.

I spend most of my time online talking to people I should just call on the phone, like on Google Talk or in IRC or something, if that counts for anything. I used to play Final Fantasy XI a lot and played WoW for like a month and oh yeah I played internet spaceships for a while but you can only shoot missles out of your midget ass about a million times before it's just a waste of time, now it's whatever Wii game is popular at the moment so for example maybe I am into injuring my hand by playing Mario Kart for 16 hours straight.

I like video games. Super Mario Bros. 3 is the best video game ever made, and the best Video Game series is Final Fantasy. I also love anything made by Shigeru Miyamoto. If you know what the parts of my OK Cupid name are from, you officially rock and should have my children. Well, unless you are a guy, I just don't swing that way sorry. :(

My musical tastes include cheezy techno, 80s, and other random assorted crap. Take on Me is the undisputed best song ever. Happy 2b Hardcore and happy hardcore techno touches me inappropriately, tho more than likely I am listening to shitty ytmnd soundtrack mp3s or katamari damacy's soundtrack or something. Oh and I like the Pet Shop Boys probably because I wish I was gay (or at least bi).

For my fellow nerds out there, my favorite video games are mostly Nintendo's cheesy kiddie games and I used spend entirely too much money on Final Fantasy XI but recently I've taken to Wii games and spending all my money on the Virtual Console. When I played FFXI, I was Zeromusmog on the Bahamut server, I'm a Tarutaru and usually a Black or White mage. I have pointy ears and am a magic missile-casting midget that makes fireballs come out of my ass. I don't play anymore but I'm leaving that here in case one of my old buddies is looking for me. I don't think can't pass a DDR machine without playing a quick song. Or more. I'm an avid fan of Linux and won't shut the fuck up about it (UBUNTU UBUNTU UBUNTU). Seriously Ubuntu 8.04 kicks ass and you should try it. I built my own computar machene on the cheap, it's pretty rad. Newegg all the way! My desktop is a couple of years old now, only $1100 with only two major $200 upgrades (2GB of RAM, new video card) and it's running circles around an HP PC my parents bought for $2000 at the same time! Of course, it's my fault if anything ever goes wrong with that thing. At something like four years old or something my deskop is still pretty rad but I want MOAR PROCESSOR now.

Politically, I REALLY REALLY hate the RIAA, so unless you want me to tirade about that for hours, don't bring it up. :D I'm not a big Microsoft fan, but they're becoming irrelevant and I'm starting to hate them less since they're not as retarded as sony. Riiiiiiiiiiiiidge racerrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Also, I hate both major political parties and I voted for Nader despite his batshit insanity, probably because I am batshit insane. If Obama doesn't win this next election I'm moving to Canada. Haha just kidding, nobody actually moves to Canada it's too cold

I like doing the simple things because it makes me happy to see others happy. I believe in being faithful in a relationship, trust, and treating everyone with respect.

Well I'm passionate about having morals and helping others. I'm down to earth and try to find the best out of each situation. I think laughter is the best medicine. I'm a high school teacher. I'm from this area but just moved back after 8 years on Maui. Although I'd say I'm tolerant of others' views, I can't stand religion and all its craziness. I have a big hound dog so I like to do things outdoors with her(but don't think I'm into camping cause I'd much rather stay in a resort than sleep on the hard ground). "Learning is for the serious business of living." Those 8 words filled my ears through most of my youth. Admittedly, I was a mediocre student at best, but it's hard to devote oneself to a cause one hardly understands. But those 8 words paint my life in colours brighter than I can describe now. It's the credo I live by. Life is meant to be experienced, and I mean to do it. But the truly meaningful experiences are seen and made with others, not by oneself.

I suppose I'm just looking for those people, or that person, who I can most easily have those experiences with. Life is meant to be lived, with people. It takes a village, n'est pas?

In practice, I'm a big nerd who thrives on technology and information; most of my family members have no idea what it is that I do for a living besides working with computers. At heart, I'm just a farm kid who misses his family and a horizon unbroken by houses or oil rigs.

I enjoy disassembling things to figure out what makes them interesting (figuratively and literally), solving problems of any sort, going to the gym, and playing Rock Band. If spare time and money existed beyond this I would probably enjoy visiting new places, meeting new people, and doing interesting life-fulfilling activities such as learning to play a real guitar instead of a fake one. Sadly I have neither and my life revolves around making sure exercise is accomplished and being tethered to my computer too much time in front of a computer. I'd like to change that and have some reason to leave my apartment.

Surprisingly, trying to meet women with no wingman is hard. In hindsight this seems obvious and is something that should have been dealt with in advance by having friends who actually left the house.

I am genuine and honest to a fault, I make people around me laugh, I've been described as "huggable", and I have a practical streak a mile wide. Children and dogs bring me great joy; cats are hit or miss. I hate the fact that my wardrobe is in transition and it would be super if the rest of my weight to be gone tomorrow, not in a few months. My mind is a steel trap for useless information and a sieve for anything practical. My clothes laungish in the dryer for days on end because I forget to fold them when it beeps and forget to start it again the next night (don't worry, they eventually get folded, I'm not that hobo). My mortal enemy is the alarm clock; my greatest ally is coffee. People who use big words in conversation make me happy.

Special note to tall girls: you're awesome, and don't let people tell you otherwise. I don't understand this business about girls apologizing for being tall. There's not a thing wrong with it.

I try to find the best in everything. Sometimes I think I'm too shy but I'm working on that. I've always been pretty active, mostly playing sports. I like to get out and do things, but also love just sitting at home relaxing.

I grew up on the Atlantic, so the ocean is where I feel most at home. Sometimes I love just going down to the beach at night and sitting there on the sand watching the waves.

OkCupid told me that I'm a "great, thoughtful guy". Typically I'm very modest and while its true, I wouldn't say that about myself, but they said it, not me. :-p

I like to think of myself as one with great ambition. I set huge goals for myself and strive to acheive them. I have accomplished several of them but one is missing. So i thought i would give this a shot. I try to be funny, I try to be spontaneous, I like making every situation fun. Im big into sports...Huge lakers, angels, ucla fan. I like going to a lot of games, watching games, and playing myself. I play basketball in a league with friends. Its pretty much the NBA for us. Other than sports I like traveling, going on random road trips, listening to loveline, eating at fancy restaurants, the beach, and the occasional nap.

Either way, you're still reading so I'll try not to insult your intelligence. I'm a fairly nerdy and geeky guy. The differences are well defined and I'm fairly clearly both. I like to read/watch/consume/practice science fiction of all kinds as well as the occasional fantasy (tho I think WoW gives me all the fantasy I need these days). I play video games and program game addons in my spare time. You could google KarlKFI or AnduinLothar and find more about me than you wanted to know.

I enjoy eating and cooking all kinds of yummy foods, tho I have a tendency to make up recipes. And I really have to be properly motivated to cook in the first place. Cooking for yourself is no fun. My father always told me I needed to marry a woman who could cook. In the mean time I guess I'll keep watching food network. Yay, Good Eats!

On that same vein I also enjoy mixing my own alcoholic beverages and forgetting what I put in it, so they come out different every time. I'm not really sure why, but I don't really like beer, wine, coffee or tea. It means I get to experiment with all sorts of alternative beverages.

Anyway, I'm an introverted and witty college graduate finding myself in a city apparently devoid of people my age. So, I'm very interested in meeting new local peeps, provided they actually exist. We all need friends, right? Where do normal people look for friends outside of work and church anyway? Maybe I need to go hang out at the laundromat or something.

Is " funny teddy bear" a cliche yet? How about "romantic/sarcastic cuddle monster?" I dig late night conversations, middle-of-the-afternoon movie matinees, and early morning cold cereal. I sometimes use the word "dig." I'm an algebra teacher, a writer, and an actor, but I only make money doing the first thing. I watch way too much TV, I don't think I read enough books, and I collect spooky art. I recycle. My family is surprised I'm still single. So am I.

I am a very hard working and motivated person with a positive mental attitude. Everyday of my life I strive to conquer the world one step at a time. I am in a couple of bands; music is a very spiritual and important aspect of my life. I also enjoy painting, cooking, running, reading, writing, hiking, parties and relaxing after a hard days work.

This is the third time I've rewritten this because I never like how it sounds. My names Dakota, I'm an above average guy, perhaps not in looks but in personality and morals, I'd say I'm pretty confident in the fact I'm better than most guys. I don't care about stranger's feelings whatsoever, that being said I wouldn't call myself a mean person, but if a person doesn't have any real value to my life, I won't hesitate to tell them off if they are being rude or disrespectful to me or anybody I care about. I hardly keep what I'm thinking to myself. If I think someone's wrong as far as facts go, I'll call them on it. As far as opinions go I'll go into a fair civil discussion about a subject if someone has a difference of opinion than my own, rather than claim my opinions right. Most of the time when I right a self descriptive like this it sounds like a perfect example of ADD because my mind jumps from one subject to another. I'm a sensitive guy for the most part. I believe more and more that girls in Southern California only care about looks, and personality is an after thought as I've witnessed many an occasion where a nice girl is with an asshole guy because he looks good. Which leads me to not really trust the female part of our species from a distance. I know thats an odd thing to put on a dating website, but I don't think every girl is like that and I know I'm not the greatest looking guy so only girls who don't care about looks will be reading this anyways. I like night time, not in an odd gothic way or something, I just think the night sky is a beautiful thing to admire and even the wonderful smell of the night air is a thing of beauty itself. I'd love to spend a night just staring up at it, with the cold air against my face. Also, I like video games. If there is something between casual and hardcore, I'm that when it comes to video games. Well for the frist time in my adult life I am living as a bachelor without any kids at home! i'm not originally from california. born and raised in texas till i was 18 and then joined the marines. i served my 6 years and now i'm here working for a weapons company. i'm not the type of person that likes to stay home. i'll find anything to do to get me out of the house, even if that means going for a run. i like going to sporting events, going offroading, and anything else that seems fun.

After work I like to run the hills of Aliso or lift weights at 24 hour.

Frequently at work I use computers and have several geeky projects I work on at home from time to time. I like to read strange books and express myself creatively through writing.
I could eat Mexican food everyday, and I am a Vegetarian. Don't let that scare you though, most people tend to forget because I almost never say it. I just like eating that way. I love cooking at home, but sometimes it's better when I don't have to clean dishes once in a while.

I am a college freshmen at Soka University of America which you probably never heard of. It's a small university of about 400 students in Aliso Viejo with about half being international students. I'm pursuing a typical liberal arts education because I am a hopeless idealist.

I always seem to have a hard time doing these self-description things. I could never answer the "what do you want to be" stuff back all those years ago, and I highly doubt I still could answer them. I guess the short and sweet is that I'm an engineer - a quirky one at that. I like to read when the time is there. While my job and some aspects of my life are all about technology and science, I do have a tendency to go for the old-fashioned and symbolic. I guess that's at the heart of who I am - the conundrum or duality of what interests me (Really, I am NOT that big of an pompous douche... that just came out that way). I have budding interests in photography and golf (more fun than people realize). I'm a big tinkerer of gadgets and always love new "toys". I'm also great tech support so I'm told. I've also been called the walking encyclopedia by my cousin because of the breadth of what I try to keep up with.

As for the more factual side of things, I'm what would be termed ABC (American born Chinese). I grew up in the South and moved out to SoCal for school (USC, FIGHT ON!!) and stayed out here for work.

Going from the geeky, shy kid when I was younger to the extremely extroverted type in high school and college, I feel like I've settled down into a (somewhat) respectable mid-twenties man.
